Question
Why does the New Testament speak so strongly against teaching false doctrines?
Answer
False doctrine has impact. A.W. Tozier said that what we think about God is the most important thing about us. And so, if you got an erroneous doctrine flying around in your brain, that impacts your view of God. Your view of God impacts you. And of course you impact the gospel. I think all of this is exceedingly important when we think in terms of good doctrine helps us to have a good understanding of God, and a good understanding of God helps us be the witnesses, the men and women of God he wants us to be.
